Sitting down with a cuppa (tea oddly for me) to catch up with the days news and gossip in great britlands papers this snippet of gossip caught my eye.
Angelina Jolie has apparently informed Germany’s Das Neue magazine: “I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship. It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterward. Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other.”
Surely after a measly 5 years with hunk Brad Pitt she can’t be bored already? Allegedly she is also quoted as saying “The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he’s wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt.”
I’d be tearing his shirt too, but not out of anger!
Joking aside, personally I think fidelity is the most important thing in a relationship. I really do not understand “open relationships”. You’re either committed to each other (whether married or a long term relationship) or you aren’t. Trust is a major factor for lasting relationships. If you are always on the look out for your next conquest or bit of fluff, even with the consent of your partner, then how to you maintain a trusting loving relationship? Perhaps I am just old fashioned…
